Highlight room at dream hollywood9/17/2023 ![]() ![]() Without him it would have been a disaster. He help get the upgrade off the bill and helped us with other things. The best thing about the stay was Cesar at the front desk. But we tried to stay out as long as possible so as not to deal with the room. The location is nice, within walking distance of things like Hollywood and Vine, the Walk of Fame and many other things. Good thing I had planned to leave extra early. It took almost 50 minutes to get our car. We were heading out to a concert at the Greek Theatre, and called down to valet for our car. The bar was full, but the tables were mostly empty. We went up to the rooftop bar and grill to have a drink at 10pm, and they wouldn't allow us to sit at a table unless we ordered food. We had them remove the upgrade because it was so small we never even went out there. Don't upgrade to a balcony, it is ridiculous. Not enough drawers, we had one chair in our room to rest, TV was to the left of the bed instead of the foot. The design of the rooms is horrible, choosing fashion over function. For the prices at this hotel, you expect much more. It was only 45 dollars in Uber back to lax where as we paid 80 with a taxi on the way! We ate breakfast at Denny’s on sunset each morning which is a short walk and way and highly recommend if you go in at about 9 as any earlier than this and it can get a bit busy. This was a most disappointing stay. Really surprisingly reasonable prices too. So it doesn’t increase because of traffic etc. We made use of the metro buses and then eventually ordered a few ubers as we realised it’s a set price before you get in done on the app. I found this a bit of a shock even though I had read other peoples reviews as you can’t really comprehend the problem until you see it for your self, it does make you feel sorry for these people and actually we realised they don’t actually bother you as you go about your business. The views were incredible - again just wish we hadn’t had so much cloud because I imagine on a sunny day they would be even better! The hotel itself is in a strange location and there is no denying it, there are lots of homeless around on every street. Unfortunately it wasn’t the weather to go in the pool at the top when we were there but we did use the sun loungers for a bit. The hotel is exactly as the pictures show it to be. But for how overpriced LA is, it wasn't bad. I just hated how dirty and gross the neighborhood was, and the other subpar experiences. Overall, if you are looking for a nicer hotel in an affordable price range, this will do the trick. I didn't mind the bed and pillows, but could tell they were not the best. My spouse had a hard time sleeping here after staying at the Virgin Hotel in New Orleans and loving the beds/pillows there. Beds and pillows were good but not great. It was difficult to find somewhere to hang robes and towels for three people. Room was also standard in size with a decent view of Los Angeles, but negatives were the one hook in the room and no full size mirror. ![]() I also enjoyed the gym with free energy drinks. Hotel was clean and me and my spouse appreciated the free coffee in the lobby every morning. Manager and staff were nice and compensated us with a free meal to help with the inconvenience. of dynamic event space featuring pool deck, lounge, and garden restaurant that can all be seamlessly joined to create one indoor/outdoor venue. We were able to use the sister hotel's pool but were greeted with attitude and felt awkward for showing up. The Highlight Room Located at the Dream rooftop, The Highlight Room boasts 11,000 sq. Pool was closed for repairs our entire stay even though I booked this hotel specifically for the pool which was not great.
